AquaCare Water Hygiene lands Dorset County Council contract
AquaCare Water Hygiene Services has landed a major contract with Dorset County Council's property division. The Christchurch-based company is to provide technical support services, including water hygiene risk assessments and laboratory services across a portfolio of more than 400 properties, to Dorset Property’s in-house professional team.
The contract, which was competitively tendered, is worth a five-figure sum annually.

Dorset County Council’s property division is responsible for ensuring that all buildings in its care are legally compliant, guaranteeing the health and safety of those using them. From initial risk assessment through to cleaning and ongoing treatment, AquaCare Water Hygiene Systems provides a total water quality service to help a wide variety of organisations like Dorset County Council comply with Health and Safety Legionella legislation, particularly Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L8 for the control of Legionella bacteria in water systems.
Founded in 2005, AquaCare Water Hygiene Services now employs 11 staff, including eight hygiene technicians, with an annual turnover in excess of £750,000. The company’s diverse client base includes Bournemouth University, Bournemouth Borough Council, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, Western Challenge Housing Association and Fitness First.
AquaCare Water Hygiene Systems is part of Sembcorp Bournemouth Water.
