AquaCare Water Hygiene awarded Wokingham Borough contract

  • Services contract value exceeds £300,000

AquaCare Water Hygiene Services has won a major water hygiene services contract worth more than £300,000 with Wokingham Borough Council. The company is to provide services to the local authority until 2012 with an option for a further three years.

Situated 30 miles west of London in the Royal County of Berkshire, Wokingham Borough is made up of 17 parishes and towns, each with their own distinctive character, a community of great diversity.

The contract, which was competitively tendered, covers more than 100 properties in the Council’s area including schools, libraries, sports facilities and community centres. AquaCare will undertake a range of work including risk assessments, maintenance, showerhead cleaning and remedial works.

“We’re delighted to have secured this contract which further enhances our reputation as one of the leading players in the water hygiene sector,” states Jeff Tanner, General Manager. “The deal could lead to at least one new member of staff being taken on.”

Founded in 2005, AquaCare Water Hygiene Services now employs 11 staff, including eight hygiene technicians, with an annual turnover in excess of £750,000. The company’s diverse client base includes Bournemouth University, Bournemouth Borough Council, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, Western Challenge Housing Association and Fitness First.
